Napa Chamber Recognizes Greg Cole and Beth Fairbairn of Celadon and Cole's Chop House for Business of Year

The Business of Year will be awarded to Greg Cole and Beth Fairbairn of Celadon and Cole's Chop House. The group of nominators wrote: "If one goes back ten years or so, Napa was not the major tourist destination of the Napa Valley. The great restaurants, for example, were located up valley along Highway 29, in Yountville and in St. Helena. All that changed when Greg and Beth put their money on the line and opened Celadon, an immediate success that brought the national restaurant spotlight to their tiny little business." Because of this success "...other great restaurants followed. Today, downtown Napa has more than 20 world class Zagat restaurants."

"I was a bit surprised and thrown off my usual routine today." said Greg Cole, owner of Celadon and Cole's Chop House. "We are very excited and honored to receive this award. Napa has certainly grown over the last 10 years and we are happy to be a part of the growth."

auction napa valleyCole's Chop House was honored to be selected as one of only twelve restaurants to prepare dinner for Auction Napa Valley 2005 guests on June 4, 2005 at Meadowood Resort in St. Helena, CA. The well-known community fundraiser raised over $10 million dollars for local charities. Club Red x9 was so named for the nine red wine producers participating in the event: Broman Cellars, Cardinale, Cuvaison, D. R. Stephens, Kathryn Hall, Monticello, Moss Creek, Silver Oak and Trefethen. Cole's 'Classic American Steakhouse' cuisine was served along with perfectly matched red wines in a supper club setting.
